Last Christmas Session of the Season

This was the last Christmas session of the season.  I'm done with portraits until at least January.
I think next year, I'll do Christmas sessions a bit different.  Maybe start earlier and end sooner.  Take the month of December off and just concentrate on family and playing during the holidays.

This was a fun session!  I know, I say that about all of them.
This little 3 month old was so good though!  She didn't mind being in the baskets, wearing the tutu, or laying over her ever so gentle, very friendly and very cuddly doggie!

Snow globes seem to be the big thing this year! Thanks to Dreamy Babies for the snow globes used in the editing of this session!

Fun Christmas Session

Two of the sweetest children!  I totally loved playing with them during this session!
 They were great to work with and so was mom and dad!

Thanksgiving Newborn Session

So, do you remember this session?
Well. . . just about 2 weeks before Thanksgiving this very sweet young
mommy and daddy welcomed their first child.  An absolutely amazing and beautiful baby boy!

I can't wait to do more sessions with this cutie and get the privileged of watching him grow up!

Giving Back

Last weekend was my 40th Birthday.  I did a few things different this year.
 I gave away two photo sessions to two deserving families.
Then on my birthday, last Saturday I spent the entire day at a local church.
The pastor of the church and I organized a fundraiser.  I set up two backdrops and the members of this church sold photo sessions.  We did sessions for members of the church as well as members of the local community.  This is a fairly small church that was renting a building.  They had two weeks to be out of the building they were in, because it was being sold.  The fundraiser was to help with their building fund and getting them in a new building.
The day before the fundraiser, they closed on a new building.  They were able to purchase, not rent, a building!  They now have a church building to call their very own.
They have worked very hard getting this all together and getting ready for services in their new home!
It was pretty awesome to be just a small part of something so huge for them!

On Saturday  they raised several hundred dollars between the photo sessions and a bake sale they were having just outside the church.

I kinda like this whole idea of giving back on my birthday!  Don't get me wrong.
I REALLY loved the family dinner and all the cards and gifts and phone calls
 and facebook love that I got on my birthday.  But there is nothing that feels as good as giving.
This may be my new birthday tradition!

Late Fall Maternity Session

A week ago I had the fun opportunity to do another maternity session with a very fun couple.
This will be their first baby and it was so evident the excitement they are feeling! As I was editing the pictures I just couldn't help but smile.  This couple is so in love and it can be seen very clearly in these photos.  Each time he looked at her, his eyes were just so full of love.
It was like her smile would just melt his heart.  It was just the sweetest thing ever!

I can't wait for this sweet baby boy to arrive!
I'm excited that I get to do his newborn session!
